The historical fabric of our nation's building and structures tells a story of our colorful and rich past. Every time we tear down a historical building, we lose a part of our past. Fortunately, there are programs in place at the local, state, and federal levels to catalog, register and preserve these jewels of the past. Unfortunately, economics are a major part of why old historical buildings are setting abandoned and neglected. They cost money to renovate for adaptive re-use, may not be in the most desirable location, and be fused with environment issues as well. There is hope, however. The afore mentioned government agencies have came up with programs to assist building owners and partnerships fund historical structures. One of the most prevalent programs is tax credits. Whether in the form of historical, energy, or other forms, these help individuals and corporations restore historic buildings. To receive historical tax credits, the National Part Service has standards that need to be met. One of these standards is a building survey, which includes the documentation on all historical aspects of the building. This would include among other items, windows, interior and exterior millwork, masonry surveys. The historical window survey is one of the most important surveys that can be done. Windows can be seen from the exterior and interior, and can be one of the most defining features of a building. That is where we come in. We have, amongst us, over 50 year experience in the historic window industry. Our services may help your partnership get the tax credits for your Historic Structures that they need and deserve. Ensuring our Future by Preserving our Past. Very Respectfully, Mark Shuck President Architectural Consulting Service |
